Tournaments Near Golf Course Home Network Communities
BY WVH Editors

One of the perks of living at a to-flight golf course community is that they often host professional tournaments. The PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and minor tours all have events at or near Golf Course Home Network (GCHN) communities.

Residents often volunteer to work at the events, rubbing elbows with the world’s finest golfers and seeing them up close. Here are a few upcoming pro events that you don't want to miss!

If you live near River Highlands in Cromwell, CT, you just had the pleasure of watching the Travelers Championship take place at the Tournament Players Club (TPC) River Highlands this past week. The purse was set at $6,100,000, and the winner was Ken Duke, who won on a sun-death playoff.

The Club at River Oaks Pic
The scenic Club at River Oaks is a gated, residential golf community with 66 lots on 350 secluded acres.

The Club at River Oaks, which is little over an hour away from the location of the tournament, would have been an easy base to visit the tournament everyday. The gated, residential golf community is located in Sherman, CT, in a section long known as a second-home haven for discerning urbanites and a past host of PGA TOUR events itself.

If you missed the first tournament near a GCHN community, there are several more tournaments coming up, beginning with the Mylan Classic. It’s not too early to plan a day trip or a couple of days at the following resorts and clubs!

August 1-4 Mylan Classic
