It was a great day on the water for the 2014 Figawi Race from Hyannis to Nantucket. The photo above was taken from aboard Trinity, a C&C 37. More than 190 boats participated in the event which was started back in the 1970s and named for some of the more memorable treks made by the early participants.
Winds were out of the NNE about 22-28 mph with gusts somewhat higher. Larger boats swept by like royalty while the spinaker division hoisted their billowing sails farther to our port. At one particular point on the course, spinaker boats crossed our bow and unfortuately some competitors chose to follow them. Overall, conditions were sunny and near perfect.
